Since the moment of its establishment in
1948, the Consorzio ZAI has been concerned with favouring the economic development of Verona. As an institutional body with a territorial base its duties are town planning and to boost the global development of the territory and its economy. A careful study of the logistics is what lies at the base of the
projects that the Consorzio ZAI has created
in favour of Veronese industries, which have thus been able to take best advantage of the rail, road, air and river systems. There are four areas in the Veronese district under the Consorzio’s jurisdiction: the original industrial area known as Zai Storica, the second industrial zone called
Zai Due Bassona, the
Quadrante Europa and the
new Marangona area. Together these areas amount to a true infrastructure system covering
10 million square
metres, constituting a natural economic strongpoint with its
1,000 companies and
40,000 employees.
