 
Another initiative of the Consorzio Zai regards the
creation of an Innovation Area
covering 1,500,000 square
metres, 500,000 square metres of which are already Consorzio ZAI property, in the area known as
Marangona located to the south-east of Verona city between the
ZAI Storica and the
Interporto Quadrante Europa in the triangular area created by the Milan-Venice motorway (A4) and the
Bologna-Verona and the
Verona-Mantua railway lines. Its strategic position is clear: it is directly connected to the railway station, the motorway system and other areas like the Interporto Quadrante Europa, Valerio Catullo Airport and Verona Fair. Research centres in collaboration with the
University and national and foreign research
institutes, centres of scientific support for innovative company activities, business research centres, analysis and certification laboratories and companies involved in high technology will base themselves in this area.
